Tickled Ivory

Tickled Ivory

The Tickled Ivory is a complete break from the norm for Reigate and is a great night out if you want to visit a classy joint with ambience and live music.

The theme is a piano bar with nice seating areas, sofas and someone at the piano or a small band playing you smooth jazz and upbeat numbers with waitresses serving drinks, a bit like Casablanca. Unfortunately the council has banned dancing in the place, which is a major shame as the atmosphere when the Tickled Ivory opened was amazing.

The décor looks a bit like an Ikea showroom but it has been designed well due to the space the management had to work with. Drinks are a bit pricey and the dress sense is strictly no trainers. So if you’re wearing a shell suit and Reebok classics, you won’t get in.

Happy hours and meal deals are available at certain times.

Full of sad folk who think they are something their not. Knightsbridge wannabes.

Interested to read some of the comments here about Tickled Ivory, I have been using the place since Jan 02 and they have been busy at weekends ever since. Music generally consistant, sometimes they get the odd braying donkey!Very smokey but it is a genuine piano bar and that is what they are mostly like. Late licence is well managed and the only genuine decent late place to go to. The managers are good lads one tall & cocky, the other quieter they both have to cope with an overpopular venue at weekends. They also have doorman who have improved over the years. Big fuss over the owner Andy I have talked to him on 7 or 8 occasions and he has been polite & quite friendly but he does seem a little detached in conversation. I have seen him standing outside on a saturday night talking to the doorman. He seems concerned that the customers are having a good experience in his bar,why does he have a chip on his shoulder? Really popular boozer that is busy, envy is a sin! He might think you're ugly.

Had a fantastic night in The Tickled Ivory last weekend, Dino Baptiste performing with some drummer was just amazing to see. Fun place, safe and with nice people in there.

OK place with a good atmosphere. Needs to lose the Ikea look and agree that the owner is a very very odd person with a massive chip on his shoulder. Drinks are very expensive. Good food, more of a snakc than a full blown meal. but i enjoyed it. Went back in the evening to check it out and was pleasantly surprised. Good mix of men and women. Different to alot of things about.

The visitor above Gemma obviously lives in a council house in woodhatch! The Tickled Ivory is an awesome place to drink, dance and be merry. It's a great place to meet the opposite sex. Open until 2am on a friday and 1am on a saturday. Drinks are a bit pricey and there's a suitable dress code, both combined keep CHAV'S like Gemma out. It's a great place to hold a party or just go with your partner or a couple of mates. As it's so popular there's a queue on the weekend nights. The staff are very proffessional, smartly dressed, curtious and can't help enough. The management are spot on and run the place properly. Be aware of the owner, little short bloke with massive chip on shoulder. Don't see him down there so much now thankfully. The only bad thing in an otherwise great great venue.
Very glad that Gemma drinks in the Market, a crap pub full of crap people.

Classy? It's a dive! Smokey and dingy, you are much better off going to the Market.
