The Red Cross

Red Cross

This much-loved pub has a mixed bag of punters where a more mature crowd has replaced soap dodging Reigate students who used to swarm around the pool table. The pub is a great place to enjoy drinks with friends in a traditional atmosphere.

The pub went through a name change, only to be changed back to the Red Cross not so long ago. I’m glad because it used to annoy me having to ask the bus to stop at the Tap and Spile bus stop only to get confused looks back.

The Red Cross is situated near the corner of old Reigate’s main road centuries ago, West Street and used to be frequented by tired travellers who used to enjoy it’s guest ales before crawling out into Reigate kebab shop.

Nice enough pub but concerned when the landlady's so called 'Well behaved dog' relieved itself on the carpet in the middle of the pub!

I heard on the grapevine that they changed it back... that's good. As long as the 14 year olds stay at home.
