The Priory (Castle)

The Priory, Reigate

The Castle in Bell Street Reigate has been fully refurbished with a fully-wooded theme, given a new name and has a lovely fresh feeling to the place. A fair sized yet contained pub with nice decor, the Priory pub opposite Reigate Priory Park has been given a complete overhaul from it's old castle days and is a very welcoming pub with a lovely beer garden at the rear.

This pub attracts all ages and shows major sporting events on the digital tv.

Bouncers on a monday in a reigate pub?? Full of idiot gay people though the garden is rather pleasent. The new owners were obviously on a budget when they decorated because it does resemble an ikea store. The bouncers have a bad attitude nd love to throw theire weight around. Not the worst place but the guy lording it up behind the bar should smile bit more!!

Fascinating to watch the fat guy lording it up behind the bar. This pub must prove popular in the summer as its a chance to get away from the really bad facelift job thats been done!

The most unimaginative and dullest pub quiz ever, does the owner buy the questions off the Internet by any chance? Ok for a one-off visit, but you wouldn't make this pub your local!

Has gone downhill very fast, whoever did the decorating ought to be shot!

GIVE UP ON THE IKEA INTERIOR, IT LOOKS AWFUL

Was good when it first opened, but is now starting to look a bit tatty and cheap, not sure about the conservatory either.

i had a couple of friends down from newcastle the other week and there was an almighty battle going on at the back of the pub. One of my friends now wants to know where he can get a 'I survived reigate' t-shirt.

Since it's refurbishment and change of name it has become a very welcoming and attractive place to drink. The large garden to the rear is a breath of fresh air as it is secluded from the main road. Music and popular sporting events are shown, but this is by no means a sports bar. An excellent place to visit if your in the area.

Well, I have certainly had enough of Greg talking rubbish about first love, playing jenga with his feet and generally being 'lord of Reigate pubs' on this website, so here’s my two bobs worth. Me and my close mates started drinking in the Castle at 15. That was 9 years ago. We have seen it all in this place and grown up drinking there. we have played for the football team, had girls in the toilets (not the gents though, big queues for the cubicle and a great deal of sniffing) thrown up inside and out, smashed things, been in fights, everything you expect from your local pub. Ok, so it's not the Met Bar, but my childhood friends and me have enjoyed the times we have spent there together and I suppose, that’s what its all about. I leave the country for 9 months 04/03/03 but throughout my time abroad I'm certain I will never find a pub with such a horrible decor but with so many happy memories. Thank you for your time.

Man oh man!! I've seen about three or four landlords through that place... used to be a main rock hangout, then Foxy left, and Spider took over. Loved it back in the day. Then Scottish Walter took it over, and it replaced the Red Cross as the underage drinking spot. After he lost his lincence or sold up (don't remember which, may have been a combination of both) Jamie took it over... I think his mother used to own the office at some point. He ran it bad, only good thing he did was get the pool team going. Still, he was a pretty ok guy, and we had fun. After that, I never drank in it again.
