The Bell

The Bell

The Bell has been recently been under new management and has been refurbished, modernised and brightened up. There is a good selection of beers and has a really friendly atmosphere.

The Bell is an unusual pub and attracts regulars and curious passers by. It’s worth a peek and you could grow to love it! One thing you will discover is that its one of Reigate’s oldest pubs (and narrowest!).
The Bell is famous for having rumours of it being a gay pub about 30 years ago but I can’t confirm that!

Check out the Laura Ashley toilets ladies.

I remember the Bell during the fifties & sixties, in fact I was a member of "The Track Gang" skiffle group when we played in the cellar! oh happy days.

Unfortuantely The Bell is no longer run by Stuart and it has been stripped of all its character by new landlord. It used to be my favourite pub but now I don't like it one bit!

I can't believe how we used to have discos in a pub this size. I remember that if you were at the fornt of the pub and wanted to go to the toilet it was quicker to go out the front door, up the street and and go around the back way. The Bell was never a gay pub unlike the Blue Anchor.

SB: The blue Anchor?!

Used to have a lock in on occasion when I was friendly with a staff member. Nice and quiet, and really close if you live or work in Reigate Town Centre. A rumour used to circulate that it was a gay pub, but then the same was said about the Blue Anchor, so I don't think they hold any water :o)
